About the role

The successful individual will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering Taronga’s bequest marketing strategy. This will be achieved through effective prospect contact, direct marketing campaigns, face to face activity and telephone contact.

Key accountabilities

  • Drive the development and growth of the bequest program.
  • Working with Direct Marketing Manager to develop, manager and deliver the bequest income and expense budget.
  • Research existing and new bequest marketing and advertising opportunities with a view to increasing the number of confirmed bequestors ensuring the best ROI.
  • Maintain accurate records on the database (ThankQ) of all contacts with bequestors and prospects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders both internal and external, particularly prospective bequestors
  • Communicate Taronga’s conservation messages both internally and externally, ensuring all communications align with Taronga’s values to inspire change in accordance with Taronga’s vision and strategic pillars.
  • Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.

About you

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, sales or fundraising with proven track record in relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with diplomacy at a high level in both written and oral form, including an excellent and sensitive telephone manner, and the ability to communicate, sensitively to people of all ages, financial and social backgrounds.
  • Hold a current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual.
  • Obtain and maintain a current volunteer NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
