Primary Purpose of the job

This casual position will have the capacity to work across all Family Violence Services programs and work sites within the Bayside Peninsula Area. The position will provide support to women and women with children experiencing family violence through the provision of case management, the delivery of intake, assessment, motel outreach and the delivery of brokerage Program.

The Family Violence Services works with service users from a feminist perspective, aiming to empower and increase the safety of women and children. Family Violence Services staff are required to work within a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment, all staff are expected to work creatively towards ensuring that the safety and support needs of all women and children accessing the services are the first priority.

This position will be required to:

  • Work across all programs offered by Family Violence Services with the Bayside Peninsula Area.
  • Provide outreach case management support to backfill case managers on leave
  • Support women and children referred via Risk Assessment and Management Panels (RAMPS)
  • Deliver intake and assessment as part of the Bayside Peninsula Orange Door
  • Respond to Motel Outreach referrals from Safe Steps and the Bayside Peninsula Orange Door as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Victoria Police and other community organisations and stakeholders
  • Deliver brokerage packages as required

Position requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work / Social Sciences or related fields is essential.
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable.
