TAIHS is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health service operating as a group practice. This practice has operated since 1975 and is located in modern purpose built premises. Services are provided by general practitioners, allied health professionals, a mental health team including a psychologist and a fully trained team of nurses and health workers. There are maternal and child, eye and dental health units, we provide holist health and wellbeing care as well as a range of social services. 

Supported Accomodation Services

Support Workers:

  • Conduct client intakes, which will include the allocation of units, beds, bedding, clothing and other items.
  • Attend to the client needs, including:
    • Assisting with client basic needs
    • Provide services inline with duty of care
    • Preparing meals, as required
    • Observing and reporting health problems and/or accessing medical assistance
Requirements for all positions
  • Have a current Suitability ’Blue Card’ for working with children and young people
  • Have a current Queensland Driver’s licence
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy including use of Outlook; Word & Excel
