TAIHS is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health service operating as a group practice. This practice has operated since 1975 and is located in modern purpose built premises. Services are provided by general practitioners, allied health professionals, a mental health team including a psychologist and a fully trained team of nurses and health workers. There are maternal and child, eye and dental health units, we provide holist health and wellbeing care as well as a range of social services.
Placement Services Officers are responsible for:
- Recruiting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander foster carers;
- Providing ongoing support for Indigenous carers;
- Finding culturally appropriate foster care placements for Indigenous
Candidates must demonstrate high-level report writing, case management communication and negotiation skills. Experience in intensive family support and / or child protection is highly desirable. Qualifications in social or behavioural sciences are desired but not essential.
Requirements for all positions
- Have a current Suitability ’Blue Card’ for working with children and young people
- Have a current Queensland Driver’s licence
- Have a reasonable level of computer literacy including use of Outlook; Word & Excel
