TAIHS is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health service operating as a group practice. This practice has operated since 1975 and is located in modern purpose built premises. Services are provided by general practitioners, allied health professionals, a mental health team including a psychologist and a fully trained team of nurses and health workers. There are maternal and child, eye and dental health units, we provide holist health and wellbeing care as well as a range of social services.

We are looking for an experienced handyperson / grounds person who will be responsible for the grounds and property maintenance of all TAIHS services and locations.

Required skills and experience

  • Demonstrated practical experience in all aspects of garden/grounds maintenance
  • Demonstrated practical experience in building and general maintenance
  • Working knowledge of WPHS requirements
  • Maintain or ensure the maintenance of all applicable TAIHS assets
  • Ability to implement and comply with maintenance schedules
  • Assist in other areas of operation as directed

Requirements for all positions

  • Have a current Suitability ’Blue Card’ for working with children and young people
  • Have a current Queensland Driver’s licence
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy including use of Outlook; Word & Excel
