TAIHS is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health service operating as a group practice. This practice has operated since 1975 and is located in modern purpose built premises. Services are provided by general practitioners, allied health professionals, a mental health team including a psychologist and a fully trained team of nurses and health workers. There are maternal and child, eye and dental health units, we provide holist health and wellbeing care as well as a range of social services.
It is the role of Family Intervention Worker to provide services to families of children and young people (under 18 years) who are subject to ongoing child protection statutory intervention – where a child or young person is living in an out-of-home placement or in the family home.
- Participation in case planning and case plan reviews
- Assist and support in the development of practical skills
- Provide supervised contact
- Coordinate referral and information
Requirements for position
- Have a current Suitability ’Blue Card’ for working with children and young people
- Have a current Queensland Driver’s licence
- Have a reasonable level of computer literacy including use of Outlook; Word & Excel
