TAIHS is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health service operating as a group practice. This practice has operated since 1975 and is located in modern purpose built premises. Services are provided by general practitioners, allied health professionals, a mental health team including a psychologist and a fully trained team of nurses and health workers. There are maternal and child, eye and dental health units, we provide holist health and wellbeing care as well as a range of social services.

  • Experience and/or understanding of the child protection and statutory intervention systems
  • Experience in case management and family support is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or similar programmes is required
  • It is a genuine requirement that this position be filled by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by, and arguable under Sections 25, 104 & 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination (199 1) Act.
Requirements for all position
  • Have a current Suitability ’Blue Card’ for working with children and young people
  • Have a current Queensland Driver’s licence
  • Have a reasonable level of computer literacy including use of Outlook; Word & Excel
