We need you to lead our dedicated program team to maximise its impact on the lives of children and families.Through a variety of programs and the facilitation of community events, you will provide professional support to families with complex needs. No day is the same in this 'play and learn' environment but every day provides new opportunities to help children smile.

Where you come in:

In this Part time, fixed term position (3 days a week, until February 2020), you will supervise and work collaboratively with the Early Childhood Educator to deliver programs and services that promote positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. You will strengthen links to the community and develop confidence in the support network we are proud to deliver. You will be based in Smithton and visit King Island on a regular basis and report to our Regional Coordinator.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing group and individual support to families from a child centred approach
  • Leading and developing an Early Childhood Worker
  • Building strong, lasting connections with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Supporting families to access the assistance they need, when they need it
  • Actively encouraging vulnerable, detached or fearful families to engage with our programs
  • Collecting and recording data and information for accountability, evaluation and reporting

Your experience in case management roles, 'toolkit' of strategies and ability to think on your feet will see you find solutions to complex situations. Your exceptional cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You have empathy, a 'can-do attitude' and most importantly, an infectious enthusiasm for your job.

This role requires:

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Health or allied areas (Diploma as minimum requirement)
  • Well-developed time management, organisational and data collection skills
  • Proven understanding of child development stages and influences
  • Exceptional communications skills and the ability to build lasting connections
  • Driver's licence (car available for work use)
