The Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC) is the national non-government peak body in Australia representing the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, based in Melbourne.

In June 2013 SNAICC will convene a major national conference in Cairns. The conference will bring together delegates to focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, and build on the success of past conferences.

SNAICC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Conference Project Officer to coordinate this major event.

The position will be responsible for coordinating a vibrant and successful National conference of an estimated 1000 delegates, with the support of an event management consultant. The role will include fundraising, program planning, promotions and logistical coordination. The project officer will also ensure the conference meets SNAICC’s objectives, including sharing success stories from the sector, generating policy discussion, developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and providing learning and networking opportunities.
