Part-time Project Worker (General Self Help Groups)

We are a not-for-profit umbrella organisation for self help and support groups and act as a clearing house for information and support, actively building the capacity and sustainability of groups which service their members with a wide range of well-being issues, such as chronic disease, genetic conditions, and general well-being issues.
We require a part-time project worker to build the capacity of this self-help support group sector and organise awareness events, initially in Brisbane and its surrounds.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- experience in working with people with health conditions and related issues
- an understanding of self help and support groups, and their benefits
- demonstrated experience in a similar role
- community development principles of practice
- an ability to structure your work to fit with the governance of the organisation
- an ability to analyse social issues
- experience in event organisation
- a Police Certificate
If you are self-motivated, flexible and proactive, with a desire to drive sustainability in this sector and have tertiary qualifications, or relevant experience in the field, then we would like to hear from you.
The successful applicant will work from our base in Sunnybank for not less than 14 hrs p.w.
