The Data Analyst will contribute towards research into wildlife and the environment and maintain status of Phillip Island Nature Parks as an internationally recognised research organisation. This role involves interpreting problems, collecting and cleaning datasets, developing data capture platforms, performing statistical analysis, building machine learning models, summarising results and communicating to different audiences.

To be successful in this position you will need to address the following criteria:

  • Bachelor degree in a scientific or engineering discipline such as Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience in data management;
  • Experience managing, curating and interrogating large and inter-related datasets;
  • High-level communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Experience solving problems using quantitative approaches on real-world data; and
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and technologies.
