  • Seasonal fixed weekday and weekend Term Contracts  
  • 3 to 6 months between November 2018 to April 2019

About the branch

Parks Victoria’s vision is to be a world-class parks service, ensuring healthy parks for healthy people. We are a statutory authority with responsibility for managing an expanding a diverse estate covering more than four million hectares – roughly 17% of Victoria. We manage a network of parks from national parks, marine parks and sanctuaries to wilderness areas, state and metropolitan parks. We ensure to support environmental, social and economic outcomes for Victoria, work to deliver on-grounds works and services to continually conserve the environment, protect aboriginal cultural locations, and manage the various facilities across the state for our visitors to enjoy. About the role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to help us protect Victoria’s incredible natural places.

As a Ranger, you’ll build and maintain tracks, trails and camping areas; help keep our visitors safe; protect the environment from weeds and feral animals; and importantly, welcome, share stories and education our visitors to make the most of their parks experience. Every day is different for a Park Ranger and the contribution you make will last!

In this role you will be responsible for:

This role will actively support our Healthy Parks Healthy People movement! You’ll implement community engagement programs which promote peoples’ physical, mental and social health and their well-being throughout the community and enjoyable park experiences.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Have good communication skills and enjoy interacting with people
  • Have a passion for nature and the environment, tourism and health and wellbeing
  • Be passionate and comfortable about presenting information to our visitors
