A position has become available for a Peer Practitioner at the Peer Recovery Community (PRC) North service located in Preston. The service is 24-hours and provides time limited support, to support recovery and promote social inclusion.

Your new role includes:

  • Working part time, 30.4 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2018
  • Working within a 24 hour 7 day per week rotating roster including weekends and sleepover shifts
  • Utilising your lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to provide specialist services to clients, families and carers
  • Assisting the client to build networks and support which will help them once they have exited the service
  • Facilitating and designing group work aligned with individual recovery plans
  • Working in partnership with clinical services and other key stake holders

You will have:

  • Lived experience of mental ill health and recovery AND the ability and willingness to use this to inform your work and the work of the team
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind
  • Flexibility, patience and focus through ongoing change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
