Midlas are offering a rewarding opportunity for a disability advocate who is seeking the combination of job satisfaction and working for a busy organisation with a highly positive and supportive culture. The key responsibilities of this role are to work with people with disabilities, their carers and families living within our region to promote their rights, participation and goals.

Midlas is a non-for-profit community organisation based in Midland promoting independence, strength and wellbeing in our community through support, advocacy and education. Our services include Financial Counselling, Tenancy Advocacy, Disability Advocacy, NDIS Appeals support, Legal Service and Emergency Relief.

The ideal candidate will be confident in addressing people from a diverse range of backgrounds and have excellent interpersonal and client centred advocacy skills. They will have experience in providing disability advocacy services and knowledge of the issues impacting upon people with disabilities. An understanding and working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme will be highly regarded.

The position is 3 days per week working Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and is available to start on 2 January 2018.
