The Role

We are seeking a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about supporting the rights of children and young people who have a disability or developmental delay, in Sydney’s North West and Hills District.

Using a collaborative team approach, the role will primarily see you managing a varied caseload, including children and young people with complex needs or challenging behaviour.

You will use person and family-centred approaches to undertake assessment and planning activities as well as providing therapeutic interventions, behaviour support and capacity building strategies tailored to the individual, their family/carers and environments. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will also share your expertise to collaborate with other allied health professionals.

Some travel to other locations and support to other service streams may be required.

What you will bring

  • Current professional registration and endorsement (Psychology Board of Australia, AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience, preferably with children and young people and with specialist knowledge of disability.
  • Demonstrated experience working in inclusive environments.
  • Knowledge of Keep Them Safe guidelines and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, National Disability Insurance Scheme and current reform in the disability sector.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance, Drivers Licence and vehicle to perform the role
