About the role

This is a rewarding opportunity for you to work with clients that range between 9 years to 25 years old. We are looking for Disability Support Workers who have an interest in working with young people with disabilities and assist them to engage in the community.

Clients are located North of the River.

This role would suit youth workers, people studying to become teachers or those who have worked with young people with challenging behaviours.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy getting out in the community and doing fun activities.

Responsibilities:  

  • Promote and assist clients to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans
  • Assist clients to develop independence and community networks 
  • Support our client’s interests 
  • Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and their carer to achieve positive outcomes
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping  

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum certificate III in Individual Support (or Youth Work/relevant studies) or working towards
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with clients, families and stakeholders
  • Experience working with Autistic clients and challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • A current First Aid Certificate (must have prior to commencing employment)
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
