About the role

As a Disability Support Worker you will actively support the individual needs of our client who accesses Life Without Barriers' disability service.

You will be responsible for supporting and promoting our clients skills and abilities, providing support with activities of daily living, personal care including toileting and access to the local community.

Please note: Our client requires support throughout the week however specifically Friday and Saturday.

Skills & experience

  • Experience working with complex and challenging behaviours including personal care.
  • Certificate 4 in Disability and a current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience supporting adults with autism (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Auslan/signing (preferred).
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence.
  • The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan.
  • The ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
