About the Role

The successful candidate will be available Monday-Friday.

Shift start and finish times are dependent on our clients requirements. The successful applicant will be available for work between the hours of 7:00 to 18:00 (a typical shift is 10:00 to 17:00 but flexibility is required).

Providing high quality client care to an LWB client who currently lives independently in his own home in Dianella. Our client is a forty-nine year male health professional who has expertise in different clinical arenas and has a serious, debilitating, multi-system disease.  He has not let his disease adversely affect and impact his overall quality of life. He continues to live independently (with support), participate in his own care routine and remains actively engaged within his greater community.

Your role will be to provide general support to the client you will also be required to manage exposure to infectious disease including:

  • High levels of personal hygiene practices
  • Correct use of personal protective equipment
  • Adopt transmission-based precautions

Key Responsibilities  

  • Assist our client in day to day living including cooking, house-keeping, personal care, hygiene, shopping etc.
  • Assist our client  to maintain independence and community networks
  • Comply with OH&S & Infection Control Management protocols
  • Provide a person centered approach 
  • Flexibility to be able to cover the required shifts of varying hours at short notice 

Skills & Experience 

  • Current Advanced First Aid Certificate(s) and be Defibrillator Competent
  • A current and valid Drivers Licence
  • Ability to represent/advocate for our client when indicated and necessary
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Our client has advised he would prefer a Non-Smoker
  • Previous experience as a nurse or within the healthcare industry will be highly regarded
  • Highly motivated, emotionally intelligent and multi-skilled support worker with a mature outlook on life.
  • Up to date immunisations
  • Work experience and education in infection control

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
