About the role

Based in our Adelaide office, as the Carer Engagement Officer you would be responsible for on boarding of new carers into LWB. This will include follow up of enquires with prospective foster families and marketing and recruitment activities to attract new carers. With a focus on quality carer attraction, engagement and retention you will be a vital part of the Engagement and Assessment team to provide a supportive and positive introduction for new foster care families into the agency. This is a full-time position until 30 June 2020.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with prospective foster carers and help guide them through the application and assessment process
  • Provide relevant information to foster care applicants through enquiry and screening stages
  • Work with management and marketing to assist with the design and implement of the carer attraction and engagement plan
  • Support the development of reports on successful recruitment activities and engagement of carers
  • Proactively engage with the community, including attending relevant events
  • Introduce carer applicants to their assessor and support the development of this relationship
  • After hours work may be required

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience within the Foster Care/Out of Home Care sector
  • An understanding of what makes a successful foster care family
  • Ability to work in a process driven environment
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong focus to provide a high quality and responsive service to our families and children & young people
  • Experience in marketing/recruitment would be desirable
  • Current Drivers Licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
