Lesbians Inc has been around since 1993 and provides financial backing to those who identify as lesbians, and lesbian friendly groups through its community grants scheme. We are a small volunteer operated organisation and do not receive funding from the government or any political party. We support good ideas that encourage education and/ or employment, work to reduce discrimination and enrich our diverse community. We turn our support into action by offering ad-hoc and annual grant campaigns to fund these ideas, and we help to share the stories of what has been achieved too.

After delivering our first nationwide survey, we are now mapping out ways to step up the impact of our organisation. With your help, we will increase our reach to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and women of colour, as well as lesbians and lesbian friendly groups in rural, diverse and emerging community settings. We will do this through engaging digital content, which may include compelling stories of our community’s activist’s achievements spanning the past 30 years.

To legacy plan for next twenty years of Lesbians Inc, you will be instrumental in identifying new revenue streams through creation of fundraiser and bequesting campaigns and attracting partner organisations. Because we are a small organisation, you will also assist as needed with grant applications and managing volunteers.

Our committee is comprised of Sydney based sector leaders. We are passionate about what we do and are committed to developing your skills and opportunities, ensuring a safe space for you to trial innovative approaches and carve out new opportunities for our community.

We are a national organisation, and we will consider applicants who do not reside in Sydney.

This part-time (1 day/week) fixed term position for 12 months from appointment provides a salary within range $60, 000 - $75,000 (pro rata for part time).

For further information, see the attributes of the person we are seeking and the key tasks in the attached file.
