Purpose of position

Develop and manage all design elements that support the Landcare communications team in delivering campaign, fundraising and event activities, that help create awareness, raise funds and contribute to relationship building of our corporate and government partners.

Also provide assistance to Landcare community groups and government partners requiring guidance on the use of the Landcare logo including; the design and provision of customised Landcare ‘caring hands’ logo for Landcare groups.

Corporate partners, Landcare groups, government partners, printers

Key Internal Contacts:

Staff at all levels, working especially closely with the corporate partnerships, fundraising, grants, and marketing and communications teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the senior designer to manage creative and branding concepts and output for awareness, promotional and fundraising campaigns
  • Design all print and digital collateral for Landcare Australia and where required, for our community, corporate and government partners where those activities align with Landcare programs
  • Manage and oversee the correct use of the Landcare Australia, Coastcare, and Junior Landcare brand and use by the Landcare community
  • Manage the visual representation of Landcare Australia’s brand across corporate and government activities
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to maintain brand alignment across digital and print platforms across all campaigns.
  • Champion Landcare Australia’s corporate branding protocols internally and externally
  • Create and implement digital assets as part of the communications strategy

Skills and Experience

An enthusiastic and creative professional with minimum three-years’ experience working as part of a marketing or communications team. You will possess a creative flair that will contribute to revitalising existing campaigns and communications tools with new energy and excitement.

You will combine your print and digital design expertise with a fresh outlook to produce communication assets that are contemporary and utilise the latest digital marketing technologies.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to a broad audience.

Also essential is the ability to manage multiple project tasks at the same time, and to be able to deal with people at all levels.

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design or in the process of obtaining a qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop are essential) as well as basic HTML and CSS knowledge
  • Experience working with Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • PC proficient
  • Sound understanding of file and colour management
  • Sound understanding on print and digital design
  • Ability to understand and interpret brand guidelines successfully and consistently.
  • Willingness to assist in other areas within the comms and marketing team
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to deal effectively with brand requests from external stakeholders.

Highly Desirable

  • Video editing knowledge using Adobe Premier/After Effects or other packages
  • Animations using Adobe Flash.
  • Experience in user interface and user experience for web design and content management systems, preferably WordPress
  • Experience or interest in the not-for-profit and environmental sector
  • Experience or interest in working with corporate and/or government clients.
