About Us

Life Without Barriers is a national not-for-profit organisation working in more than 260 communities across Australia. We deliver services in the areas of disability, out-of-home care, aged care, mental health and support for refugee and asylum seekers.  We also provide services to homeless people and to youth involved with the justice system.

Development and provision of advice around policy, procedures and forms in the areas of immigration. Position based in Richmond, Victoria.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse the current internal policy landscape to identify needs and gaps.
  • Develop policy, procedures, and forms relating to support service delivery.
  • Support operational programs to implement policy and procedure.
  • Provide advice relating to policy and procedure requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in the human services sector and participate in working groups.
  • Consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in order to reach agreed positions.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in human services or related relevant experience.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policy and procedures in the non-government sector.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to undertake effective consultation and engage stakeholders.
  • Well developed ability to problem solve, use initiative and think laterally and strategically.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, compliance requirements, LWB policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices and principles.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the position).
