About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for two Case Workers (Families First) to join our Parents and Kids Together (PAKT) program.

PAKT is an integrated team that includes DHHS funded programs: Families First, Stronger Families, Youth Counselling and Youth Support & Advocacy. You will carry a caseload of clients and use outreach to actively engage parents, children, young people and their families to undertake ongoing holistic assessments and interventions.

You will also identify strengths and risks in line with the Best Interests Case Practice Framework to achieve best practice outcomes.

About you

Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or equivalent including Psychology, Family Therapy, Youth or Early Childhood Development.
  • 3+ years’ experience is preferred including experience working with children and young people at risk and vulnerable families.
  • Working with disempowered and vulnerable families, including capacity to engage clients and work with clients to bring about change.
  • Understanding of the issues involved in casework with children, young people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal families.
  • A range of relevant intervention strategies and frameworks, demonstrated ability to meet timelines, targets with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and report writing skills.
