About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Case Worker (Stronger Families) to join our Parents and Kids Together (PAKT) program.

This integrated role includes DHHS funded programs: Families First, Stronger Families, Youth Counselling and Youth Support & Advocacy carries a caseload of clients and uses outreach to actively engage parents, children, young people and their families to undertake ongoing holistic assessments and interventions. You will also identify strengths and risks in line with the Best Interests Case Practice Framework to achieve best practice outcomes. 

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or equivalent including Psychology, Family Therapy, Youth or Early Childhood Development
  • At least 3 years’ experience is preferred including experience working with children and young people at risk and vulnerable families
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working with disempowered and vulnerable families, including capacity to engage clients and work with clients to bring about change
  • Demonstrated experience and an understanding of the issues involved in casework with children, young people and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal families
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of relevant intervention strategies and frameworks, demonstrated ability to meet timelines, targets and other key deliverables with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and report writing skills are essential
