The Opportunity:

As a Residential Youth Worker your will be responsible for providing a safe, secure home like environment for young people living at Junction House. Working under the direct supervision of the Team Leader, you will contribute to the daily planning of activities within the program together with general housekeeping duties. You may also be required to interact with other government and non-government organisations and members of the community as directed.

About you:

  • Certificate IV Community Services, Youth Work or equivalent
  • The ability to work across 24/7 roster and undertake passive and active night shifts
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate responses to clients with behaviours that demonstrate high and complex needs
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with clients, staff and external agencies

You will need to:

  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
  • Hold a current Child Safe Environments Certificate
  • Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process which will include psychological assessments
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s licence and be willing to drive
