Hireup is an Australian startup connecting people with disability and support workers online. We harness technology to give people with disability and their families the power to find, hire and manage support workers who fit their needs and share their interests.

We’re a socially driven, for-purpose organisation, run by a small but dedicated team of (big) thinkers, builders and doers. And we’re looking for our next recruit.

About the role

The community recruiter role will be responsible for helping us to seed and scale the support worker pipeline for our online community platform. You’ll be specifically focused on ensuring support worker  job fulfillment rates and targets are met in the Sydney region and you’ll be helping us to pilot, test and implement the recruitment strategies into other parts of the country.

This role requires a high level of performance and impact and gives you the freedom to use creativity and imagination to achieve your outcomes.

It requires energy, positivity and an entrepreneurial(make stuff happen) approach. It’s about motivating, inspiring and exciting key stakeholders to ensure that Hireup has the best and brightest support workers in Sydney and beyond.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working with the broader community engagement and Hireup team to create new approaches, tactics and strategies to build the pipeline of the best and brightest workers.
  • Coordinating and getting creative with our support worker advertising activities – both online and offline.
  • Using your friendly and outgoing nature to secure high value support worker registrations on the platform.
  • Cultivating relationships with partners and organisations that can deliver support worker recruits. E.g Universities
  • Coaching and guiding potential recruits so they can see the career and lifestyle opportunities that Hireup presents for them.
  • Implementing, reviewing and improving on recruitment strategies to ensure we’re achieving our outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • You don’t need tonnes of experience, just the desire and capacity to learn quickly.
  • Someone who is often described as being able to talk underwater, but knows when you need to stop and listen.
  • Has used their relationship building skills to engage people, whether one on one or at scale.
  • Is decisive and insightful – has the ability to make quick decisions, adapt to challenges and learn fast.
  • Isn’t afraid to try new ideas and take new approaches to tackling big challenges
  • Has an ability to think on a systematic level, as well the ability to generate practical and implementable ideas
  • Has excellent verbal and communications skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Works well with a team, but can be an independent and autonomous go - getter when they need to be.

What we’d love to see but won’t make or break the deal

  • Experience or interest in the disability sector.
