More than once, the Hireup communications team has proven that there is more value in listening to its community than relying on traditional communication theories for social, marketing, advertising, PR and brand reputation. Hireup launched in 2015 and has been growing quickly ever since. We’re now looking to place a Digital Marketing & Content Manager within our Sydney-based communications team. The Digital Marketing & Content Manager will work across social media strategy and advertising, coordinating direct marketing and maintaining Hireup’s website and blog. They will need to be an effective collaborator that understands product marketing, growth marketing and the importance of data analytics. The Digital Marketing & Content Manager will need to have strong written skills that can transition between the professional and creative. While they will report to the Communications Manager, the role comes with a large amount of autonomy, requiring the right person to be the creative, initiative-taking type.

The Digital Marketing & Content Manager should be a proactive problem solver with experience in delivering creative content that resonates and a focus on developing and sharing learnings.

The big picture

  • Take part in defining the direction of Hireup’s communications strategy
  • Design innovative, creative ways to engage and educate new and existing users
  • Contribute to shaping Hireup’s reputation 

The work

  • Strategically align messaging, content and resources across digital communications channels (including social, EDM, website, blog) to serve multiple stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to design and run high-impact engagement communications
  • Develop and publish content for all media channels
  • Demonstrate ROI through all media channels
  • Keep pace with dynamic channels that give more powerful, amplified voices to stakeholders
  • Analyse data to understand how stakeholders view the organisation
  • Assist in developing processes and systems for operational excellence within the communications team, focusing on production planning and making sure campaigns are as efficient, cost-effective and timely as possible
  • Assist with managing reputational risk and opportunity

The person

  • Bachelor’s degree or above and 3+ years doing this or related work
  • Strong written skills that can transition between the professional and creative
  • Ability to learn on the fly and exercise intellectual agility
  • Must be a good listener and open to multiple perspectives
  • Inclined towards taking initiative in a collaborative and integrated way
  • Mature sensitivity to the values and expectations of others
  • Experience in setting and working towards objectives, KPIs, hypotheses for testing and analysing results
  • Exceptional ability to build relationships, internally and externally, with colleagues, stakeholders and users
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives
  • Approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Qualities: adaptable, resilient, transparent, trustworthy, passionate and innately curious

This position is full-time and the salary is around $70k exc gst, commensurate with experience.
