Position purpose

GetUp is looking for a Personal Assistant to work closely with the National Director and Executive Officer to help us run the office.

The Personal Assistant plays a key role in coordinating the National Director’s schedule, assisting in the management of key relationships, and providing executive and administrative support to the National Director and Executive Officer.

This position will report to the Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executive support to the National Director:

- management of meetings, diary and travel;

- provision of executive support, including research, correspondence management;

- strong relationship management with key non-profit groups, the private sector, government, media, donors and the Board.

  • Assisting the Executive Officer in the operational management of the organisation:

- providing administrative support, including oversight of some purchasing requirements;

- coordinating staff and management meetings and events;

  • Support the Executive Officer in management of key relationships, including:

- maintaining a current major donor database;

- ensuring GetUp's donors are having their administrative needs met.

  • Facilitate timely and communications between National Director, Executive Officer and rest of organisation.
  • Other duties as requested by National Director and Executive Officer.

Required skills / attributes

We are looking for someone with experience in fulfilling a wide variety of operational tasks in a timely manner. Our ideal candidate is:

  • Experienced, with two years or more in an personal assistant or administrative management role;
  • An advanced computer / IT user;

  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills;
