Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service is a community services organisation that has been helping people battle poverty and disadvantage since 1976.

This role requires project delivery and development, capacity building and networking with clients and relevant project partners for two key program areas - Outlandish and School Leadership program. These programs focus on different life learning transition points.

The first program, Outlandish, is an eco-therapy program which aims to engage women and girls regarded as ‘hardest to reach’ and most socially isolated. The program activities are focused around the environment and animals and this forms the pathway into volunteering, training or further education or employment. The program includes field trips, individual and group work.

Outlandish provides an opportunity for women and girls who have experienced hardship in their lives to see they can make a contribution in their world. The worker is required to exercise considerable interpersonal skills and insight into the needs of these disadvantaged and isolated young women.

The second program, the School Leadership Program, has been developed by Good Shepherd in partnership with a local primary school. It targets students in years four and six and aims to develop positive attitudes, team work, resilience, self esteem and leadership skills within the school environment and for the future.
