FareShare's mission is simple.

We rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and cook it into nutritious meals for people in need.

We provide free meals to more than 450 charities including homeless shelters, soup vans, women’s refuges, disadvantaged schools and community food banks. Our vision is for a society where food is not wasted and no one goes hungry.

FareShare operates Australia’s largest charity kitchen from Abbotsford cooking 6,000 meals every day. We are a community powered by volunteers. In addition to the 1000 regular volunteers who help us cook, collect, distribute and grow food, we empower around 3,000 secondary school students and 3,000 business volunteers to make a difference in our kitchen each year.

in October last year, we launched a second kitchen in Brisbane - capable of cooking up to 5 million meals a year.

FareShare is seeking a full-time Administration Support Officer to provide support to our Community Team (including fundraising, development, community building, volunteer coordination, and general office administration). The role is based at our Abbotsford facility in Melbourne.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar administration role, and will possess outstanding communication and people skills. In previous roles, you will have demonstrated your ability to use initiative, manage time efficiently, and to organise and prioritise your workload. You will need strong computer skills (particularly in MS Office), and will have experience using databases and CRM tools. Experience with Salesforce would be highly regarded.

Key Selection Criteria

Person Specifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years working in an administration role.
  • Experience using a CRM system essential. Salesforce experience highly regarded.
  • Excellent computer skills, including database management.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrable time management, organisation and administration skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • An attentive eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to teamwork and flexibility.
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to FareShare’s mission.
