The Intake Coordinator position is often the first point of contact for women and children who are living in or have left a violent relation. The worker will ensure that women and their children experience a strength based service response that empowers them to be self-determining. The Intake Coordinator will provide a “whole of family” risk assessment and immediate safety plan at the point of intake. The Intake Coordinator will work with other EMHAWS staff to allocate women and their families to case managers or offer appropriate referrals when necessary.

This position is an important pathway and resource for women and children affected by family violence providing practical support and information, referrals and advocacy.

EMHAWS is committed to the integration of services within the broader service system. EMHAWS will ensure that all women and their children in EMHAWS catchments are able to access a range of family violence support services, housing services and family support services, both Aboriginal and mainstream.

The EMHAWS Intake Coordinator will be based at the EMHAWS Head Office located in Northcote.
