As part of the Central Desert Group, Desert Support Services Pty Ltd (DSS) provide a range of services that are geared towards supporting Aboriginal Corporations to achieve a sustainable and independent future, focusing on building capacity by empowering local and regional decision making.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a client focussed, committed and energetic individual to lead in the development and delivery of projects and programs that support Aboriginal client organisations to sustainably use and manage their lands to achieve their social, cultural and economic aspirations.

The successful person will be:

  • Solutions and results focussed;
  • Have exceptional multi-tasking and facilitation skills;
  • Bring with them a well-developed network; and
  • A strong track record of successful collaborations, preferably with Aboriginal organisations.

You will lead a small team of dedicated field staff and will have a focus on working with clients organisations that represent the traditional owners of lands within the western region of our service area.  This includes a number of organisations with well-developed land and community programs (e.g. Birriliburu and Wiluna programs) as well as a number of emerging programs.

To be successful for this role, in addition to being able to perform the duties outlined in the Duty Statement (which can be found on our website), you must:

  • Be able to travel to remote and other locations as required by 4WD vehicle, light aircraft or scheduled flights as required; and
  • Hold  current ‘C’ class driver’s license.
