Desert Support Services (DSS) provides a range of services that are geared towards supporting Aboriginal organisations to achieve a sustainable and independent future, focusing on building capacity by empowering local and regional decision making.

The services provided include program development, project management, organisational support and development and financial services. These services are provided via service agreements to Aboriginal client organisations on a fee-for-service basis.

DSS forms part of the Central Desert Group (CDG) of companies that also include Central Desert Native Title Services and Rockhole Funds Management.  Each company is separately incorporated and operates independently, but work closely together where there are clients and interests in common.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a client focussed, committed and energetic individual to lead our finance team and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations while overseeing the financial sustainability of the CDG and client organisations.

The successful person will have a CA or CPA qualification, be solutions and results focussed, and have strong experience in leading and motivating a small team.  

As an integral member of the Senior Management Team you will be required to provide accurate and timely financial information to the board and be an active member of the Audit and Risk Committee.

This is an rewarding, all-encompassing role that requires flexibility to be able to work at the highest level yet also “roll up your sleeves” and get into the day to day detail.  

As part of your role you may be required to travel to remote areas of Western Australia, including spending time in the field during the field season (March – December).
