Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd delivers a range of early intervention and prevention programs focusing on informing and engaging with our community through high quality Adult Education, Neighbourhood House, Legal (through the Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre) and Family Support programs as well as community engagement and development activities. The Corporate Program offers operational and strategic program expertise and support to all internal programs of commUnity+ and other external social enterprise projects.

Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd is seeking a Project Officer to be responsible for the implementation, evaluation and reporting of the Capacity and Innovation Fund (CAIF) Project 10.

This project will address youth disengagement from community and education through an inclusive participatory approach. The project will engage with secondary schools, learn locals and community organisations and develop pre- accredited programs for young people using a co-design model, implementation and evaluation of the pre-accredited programs. The project officer will also facilitate the Youth Parliament project collaborating with the Director of Strategic Partnership and Business Development.

Applicants must hold an appropriate tertiary qualification with project management experience and youth work desirable. They will have demonstrated experience in:

  1. Experience with working with young people from a refugee background
  2. Excellent knowledge and understanding of casework management and project management principles.
  3. Experience working with stakeholders in the youth sector
  4. Experience with Facilitating and/or training youth
  5. Independently managing time, prioritising and planning work to meet set timelines in an environment of competing priorities.
  6. Effective stakeholder and communication strategies to manage complex relationships.
  7. Effectively communicating with, and relating to, a wide range of people in the community and within an organisation. This includes demonstrated application of highly developed oral and written communication abilities in the areas of negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship development.
  8. Report writing skills and collecting data.
  9. Completing acquittals in a timely manner.

A detailed project plan has been developed and the Project Officer is required to execute the actions in the project plan with the support of a steering committee. The project should be completed by 30 June 2019.
