Do you have the experience and passion to assist people to build sustainable pathways out of the criminal justice system? Would you like a role that is challenging and rewarding? Do you want to work in a strong team that is valued and supported?

The Community Restorative Centre (CRC) is a community based agency that has been delivering services to people affected by the criminal justice system for 66 years. We work hard to create an environment that encourages professional development and respect for staff to provide effective services for our clients.

We are seeking to recruit a Transition Worker - Nepean/Blue Mountains Transition Service:

  • Contract to 30th June 2020
  • 30 hours per week
  • Terms and Conditions of employment as per Level 4 Pay Point 4 of the SCHADS Award 2010

  • Based in Penrith

The Transition Worker will provide transitional casework services and accommodation assistance to people exiting NSW Correctional Centres returning to live in the Nepean/Blue Mountains areas. The position will also work with people currently living in the community who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless if they have a history of criminal justice system involvement. Casework services are conducted on an outreach basis with the overall aim of establishing secure, long term, independent accommodation for ex-inmates and people involved in the criminal justice system. The position is generally Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm; with occasional out-of-hours’ work to be performed as required.

We are committed to achieving a diverse workforce and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from CALD backgrounds.
