B Miles Women’s Foundation is a valued and well established not-for-profit agency that has provided essential housing and support services to women across inner Sydney for over 35 years.

The Foundation provides responses to women who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing:

  • Homelessness
  • Mental ill-health
  • Trauma
  • Family violence

The Foundation provides a range of programs including:

  • Emergency housing
  • Transitional housing
  • Outreach support
  • Clinical recovery programs

All of our programs aim to assist women to stabilise their circumstances and to sustain mental health stability.

About the Role

This is an incredible opportunity for a fundraising / development professional to design, develop and deliver the organisation’s first annual fundraising strategy. The strategy will align with the Foundation’s Strategic Plan.

The Fundraising Manager will grow and sustain B Miles Women’s Foundation’s revenue to support the delivery of specific projects by engagement with individual donors, major donors, grants & philanthropic foundations and corporate giving.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience demonstrating capacity to develop and implement effective fundraising programs, products and initiatives
  • A proven track record of delivery against income targets
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants or major donations from philanthropic bodies, government, donors and the corporate sector
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, forward plan, meet deadlines and deliver results
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously and within a team with a friendly, positive, can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a Fundraising Strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and relationship management skills
  • Maturity of judgement and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • The Foundation holds an exemption under the Anti-Discrimination Act and employs women only

Highly Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing, philanthropy, sales or similar discipline
  • Experience in fundraising in the community services sector
  • Understanding of the compliance and regulatory environment for not-for-profit organisations

Qualifying Period

This position is subject to a minimum employment period (6 months qualifying) during which time the employee's suitability for ongoing employment will be assessed.
