Pearler of a position in Fiji! Be the Handicraft Production Advisor for the Ba Women’s Forum (BWF) and help develop a commercial mother-of-pearl handicraft enterprise supporting livelihoods, income generation, import replacement and export development.

The Ba Women’s Forum (BWF) is an umbrella organisation for all 69 women’s clubs in the Ba region of the north coast of Viti Levu, with more than 1500 members. The mission of the BWF is to empower women by making them self-sufficient through various skills development and economic sustainability programs. The Pearl Livelihoods Project focuses on training members of BWF in design and production of ‘Fiji made’ mother-of-pearl handicrafts and jewellery items that are retail ready. The projects includes a workshop, storage, staff training areas, equipment, office, finished goods) plant, located at the Women`s Multipurpose Bure facility in Ba.

You will work with BWF staff to oversee development and production of high quality mother-of-pearl jewellery and handicraft items and develop operational protocols supporting enterprise development. This livelihoods development project aims to improve income generating opportunities for members of BWF and to develop a successful enterprise model that can be developed in other communities in other parts of Fiji.

Your role will help unlock the region’s mother-of-pearl (MOP) jewellery and handicraft industry’s income potential and contribute greatly towards BWFs mission of improving self-sufficiency of women through appropriate skills training.
