  • Part Time role, work from home (26 hours per week)
  • Location: Sydney (preferred)
  • Leadership opportunity with a small but mighty rare disease organisation

About the role

As the leader of this small organisation, you will be the key connection between the users of our services and a range of stakeholders including health professionals, researchers, government and other rare disease organisations. The role is varied, from working with and managing the Fundraising Manager, managing projects, representing TSA at conferences and with a wide range of stakeholders, to advocating and lobbying for support for our case.

The role is likely to appeal to someone with a broad range of skills and experiences, looking to apply that in a challenging and stimulated job that provides the flexibility of home based part time work.

TSA has driven the implementation of a number of innovations and changes in treatments available that have made significant improvements to the quality of life for people with TSC. We are looking for an energetic leader to continue that work and take us forward.

About the organisation

As the only organisation for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) in Australia, Tuberous Sclerosis Australia undertakes a wide variety of activities to benefit people living with TSC and their families in Australia. These include education, support services, advocacy and research.

TSA operated as a volunteer organisation from its inception in 1981 until 2011 when a General Manager was appointed. In 2017 TSA appointed it’s second staff member, a Fundraising Manager.

TSA provides critically needed information about TSC via our website, telephone support, and education events. We collaborate with other organisations here and internationally, with health professionals, researchers and government to improve access to information and services.

A position description is attached.
