Baoji Qing Qing Cao Rehabilitation & Education Centre strives to provide children with disabilities with meaningful and enjoyable life environment and opportunities, as well as to raise awareness on the importance of inclusion of people with disabilities. The organisation has a remarkable history in that it was developed from the drive and vision of a parent of a child with cerebral palsy only four years ago in response to the lack of locally available services and support.

The Centre is now fully established and offers a wide array of services and programs to local families of children with disabilities. In its quest to continue to expand and improve its capacity, the organization is seeking to employ an Australian volunteer to:

  • Provide technical support to staff, parents and families on care and education of children with special needs.
  • Assist the Centre in improving the quality of services delivered.

It is envisaged these objectives will be achieved by:

  • Designing educational objectives for individual cases;
  • Developing and delivering special education curricula;
  • Training Assistant Educators and parents on special education principles;
  • Supporting the development of a strategic plan;

This is a 12 month assignment and to be considered for this role you will need to have a degree in Education or Special Education, experience in the design and delivery of Special Education programs, experience in strategic planning, and experience in training colleagues and parents on issues relating to Special Education. A higher degree and/or experience in teaching English as a Second Language is also desirable.
