Asosiasaun Halibur Deficiente Matan Timor-Leste – AHDMTL was established in July 2011 with the purpose to serve and protects the right of Blind and Visually Impaired people in Timor Leste and become an active voice and provide representation in all fora to advocate and raise awareness for the rights and issues facing blind and visually impaired people in Timor-Leste. AHDMTL has a clear vision for the future, are motivated and are establishing competency in the provision of rehabilitative support for blind and visioned impaired community in Timor-Leste. However, the organisation is new and small and faces barriers relating to organisational, program and project management skills, as well as networking and advocacy skills. The Volunteer will work alongside with the local counterpart and Team (which most are blind and visually impaired) for the period of 18 months to; strengthen institutional capacity related to resource management and resource mobilisation, networking, advocacy, leadership and staff management, financial management as required and its strategic direction.

  • This role will require the successful volunteer to develop a strategic implementation plan and support the team in their planning and understanding of the larger picture and its application at the local level.
  • Have the chance of living and working in Dili, the thriving capital of Timor-Leste
  • The suitable volunteer will possess Tertiary qualification in social sciences, community development, monitoring and evaluation, or community planning and development, relevant experiences advocating for disadvantaged groups as well as organisational strengthening strategies and methodologies
