Role Description

The Accountant supports the Chief Operating Officer contributing to the effective financial management of the organisation overseeing the bookkeeping processing and financial reporting.

Specific Duties include:

  • Liaise with staff to prepare monthly internal financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly Finance Committee reports including analysis and reporting against budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with Trustee obligations for the organisation’s DGR trust
  • Guide staff on the correct application of accounting policies
  • Contribute to the improvement of the accounting function, policies and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare regular revenue and cash flow forecasts and analysis
  • Prepare GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT, WorkSafe and superannuation returns to support Renew meeting it’s tax obligations
  • Oversee preparation of fortnightly and monthly payroll
  • Oversee bookkeeping duties including petty cash, account reconciliations and receivables and payables processing.
  • General support for the Chief Operating Officer
  • Other duties, as directed

Required skills and qualifications:

  • CPA Qualification
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in MYOB an advantage
  • Experience with Salesforce an advantage
  • Excellent teamwork and general communication skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts
  • Strong personal organisation skills
  • Solutions orientated – identifying areas of continuous improvement
