The Hotham Mission Asylum Seeker Project (ASP) is a UnitingCare agency (and a project of Hotham Mission) that works with people seeking asylum. We are a dedicated team providing practical assistance and advocacy for asylum seekers.
We currently have vacancies for 4 x Caseworkers Adult Community Detention to assist our casework and client services programs with people seeking asylum.
You will use your expertise to:
- work within our Community Detention casework teams
- provide holistic casework support to people seeking asylum either within the parameters of the Community Detention Operational Framework or the ASP Operational Policy
- manage a caseload of people from non-English speaking backgrounds, who may have experienced torture and trauma
- assist clients to navigate the immigration process, while providing emotional support
- work within the ASP strengths-based practice framework.
We have a number of positions available for case work practitioners. Knowledge of asylum seeker issues is essential; experience preferred.
SACS Vic Award payments, commensurate with experience.
