  • Above award therapist salary package of approx. $69k to $103k p.a. FTE - inclusive of superannuation (pro rata for part time/pro rata for contract term)

About the role: 

Work remotely (from your own home) and directly within a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and educators to provide support under a PBS framework for individuals on the spectrum and/or other disabilities, families and carers. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with parents, schools, community programs and other professionals, aiming to enhance and broaden knowledge and skill set in the area of behaviour support. Key responsibilities:

  • Implement best practice autism specific PBS in a range of community settings
  • Promote person and family centred practices
  • Present autism and PBS information to large groups of families, stakeholders and professionals
  • Participate in continual professional development using evidence based and reflective practice in positive behaviour intervention support
  • Assist in coordinating the delivery of a service across a region
  • Work alongside individuals on the spectrum with complex needs and their support teams

Essential skills, qualifications & experience: 

  • Tertiary qualification in allied health (psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy or social work) or education
  • Fully registered with appropriate discipline registration body
  • Current registration with or willingness and eligibility to register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Capability to work within complex scenarios, passionate about supporting individuals on the spectrum to have the best life possible, and an interest in supporting and working within diverse community groups
  • Experience in the fields of autism and PBS, including conducting functional assessments, writing behaviour support plans and providing effective person centred interventions
  • Ability to coordinate the delivery of a service, including managing enquiries, referrals and intake as well as recording and reporting service information
  • Demonstrated ability to empathise with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families
  • Outstanding organisational, communication and presentation skills
  • Current valid NSW (or relevant state / territory) driver’s licence and use of own vehicle for business purposes
  • Willingness to travel across the local region as required
  • NSW Working With Children Check clearance for paid employment (and / or equivalent check clearance per relevant state / territory)

This position also requires a Police Check and functional assessment of physical capacity which Aspect will arrangeYou may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.
