Salary range

  • From $43,884 approximately grossed up $50,440 to $50,880 approximately grossed up $58,890
  • Tax concession of $15,900 per FBT year (1 April to 30 March)

We have a vacancy in the Redfern Office for an Administration Officer (EAGP) for a 12 month period.

The Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) Limited has a vacancy for an Administration Officer to support the Early Appropriate Guilty Plea project (EAGP).

Location: Redfern Office

Purpose of position

Provide high quality support to clients, in accordance with the ALS policies, procedures and guidelines; to contribute to the implementation of the Aboriginal Legal Service's strategic plan to deliver high quality legal services to Aboriginal clients.

Key tasks

  • Provide high level of Administrative support to Trial Advocates in support of the Early Appropriate Guilty Plea project and ensure that the necessary administrative processes are taken up by ALS staff
  • Provide word processing and administrative support using Microsoft Office Systems 
  • Liaise with professionals, including in- house solicitors, external barristers, medical professionals, court staff and other ALS staff members and stakeholders

Key Selection Criteria

  • Aboriginality and knowledge of Aboriginal communities and the social issues affecting those communities;
  • Commitment to the principles of social justice;
  • Proven skills in computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Typing skills with a minimum of 35 wpm;
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to multi task;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment with limited supervision;
  • Excellent problem solving skills.


  • Previous experience working in an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community based organisation;
