A little bit about ACSO

The Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) is a dynamic, values driven NFP, focused on partnering with Government and the community to co-design services that create real social change. We’re an organisation with a bold vision to create a safe and inclusive community freed of crime and prisons. It’s our goal to reduce re-offending and our mission is to help people transition from prison, assist them in the community, stop them from re-offending, and intervene to divert others from committing crime.

The program and the role

The Community Support Program (CSP) is a vital service that compliments Corrections Victoria's specialist case management model. The CSP provides pro-active, practical and individualised assistance that facilitates post-sentence order offender's access to a range of community supports and services that address their multi-faceted needs.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of residential and community-based support services that are delivered to participants on post-sentence orders. They will manage their team’s performance through monitoring work quality and output, team and individual staff development and utilising their subject matter expertise to provide content support and advice. The Ballarat Team Leader will play a significant role in key stakeholder management across the residential facilities accommodating many CSP participants. They may assist the Program Manager with recruitment, program development, staff training and data collection where required.

  • Experience in the field with strong leadership skills.
  • A strong sense of personal accountability and resilience.
  • A strong belief in humanity and the basic right each of us has, to a second chance.
  • The ability to obtain National Criminal Record and Working with Children Checks.

What ACSO can offer you

  • A supportive and collaborative team.
  • An opportunity to add value and lead a team to success.
  • Be part of an evolving and new program.
  • $74K - $80K base salary + superannuation.
  • Great NFP salary packaging options.

ACSO embraces diversity within its workforce and as such encourages applications from appropriately qualified and skilled people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including those from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. ACSO acknowledges the traditional Aboriginal owners of country throughout Victoria and pays respect to them, their culture and their Elders, past, present and future.
