We’re a New South Wales based health promotion organisation specialising in HIV prevention, HIV support and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) health. Established in 1985 as the AIDS Council of NSW, we’re here to end HIV transmission among gay and homosexually active men, and promote the lifelong health of LGBTI people and people with HIV. We are based in Sydney with regional offices and outreach officers providing services across NSW.
ACON has a rare opportunity for a talented, experienced health promoter to join our Gay Men’s Sexual Health Team. Responsibilities include the planning, development and delivery of a range of innovative health promotion initiatives aimed at optimising health and wellness among sexually adventurous gay men (SAMs). Familiarity and empathy with gay men’s sexual cultures is essential as are exceptional spoken/written communication skills and a passion for peer engagement in this area.
You will work closely with the Manager, Gay Men’s Sexual Health Programs, to drive key elements of ACON’s community engagement programs for Sexually Adventurous Men, as well as working with a range of support services to provide judgment free education and support to men who contact ACON to access further information around their crystal use.
This position is full-time (35 hrs/wk) based in Sydney and may require working evenings up until 8pm, at least weekly and some Saturdays.
