About the program

The Wesley Disability Services team delivers services in the following areas:

  • In Home Care
  • Disability Services, including supported accommodation, group and centre based activities.
  • ITC-SD (Intensive Therapeutic Care – Specialist Disability) support for young people in Out of Home Care accommodation.

About the role

The Clinic Lead provides leadership and role modelling to all Nursing staff and Non-Nursing staff in the Disability Services team to ensure there is focus on service development and appropriate oversights of health practices, trends and indicators.

This position works closely with the Disability Leadership Team to ensure safe, effective, and ethical care is maintained in line with Child safe and NDIS Quality and Safety standards; in particular relating to High Intensity Support. You will be reporting to the Head of Disability Services.

Essential skills / knowledge

  • current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications and nursing leadership and management experience
  • demonstrated ability to develop, direct and lead a team to achieve organisational objectives.
  • demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a senior management team and to collaborate with other health professionals and disciplines in the management of health care services
  • demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills.
  • demonstrated experience in change management, negotiating competing interests and conflict resolution skills
  • proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines and budgets
  • thorough attention to detail
  • excellent written and verbal skills, and ability to speak in front of others
  • outstanding interpersonal skills, flexible, patient and ability to relate well with others
  • satisfactory criminal history check as well as a current WWCC and NDIS worker check. The suitable applicant will need to consent to be entered onto the Office of the Children’s Guardian’s Residential Care Workers Register.

Desirable skills / knowledge

  • experience working with adolescents and / or adults with an intellectual and / or physical disability
  • understanding of person-centred and trauma informed support for people with a disability
  • familiarity with the not for profit sector.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Nurses Award Level 5. Salary packaging benefits available.
