About US

At Vietnam Animal Aid and Rescue we provide a safe and loving environment for 35 rescued animals including cats, dogs, chickens, and one gorgeous pig named Julian. Our mission extends beyond the shelter, and we are also involved in rescue and rehabilitation of all species of animals, while our community outreach endeavours help foster relationships with the local community and their animals. Our long-term mission is to make lasting changes through the development of a Veterinary hospital.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A unique and exciting opportunity exists for an experienced animal carer at Vietnam Animal Aid and Rescue. Experience life in beautiful Hoi An, while nurturing your passion for animals and their care.

This role involves:

  • Ensuring the well-being of our residents through feeding, medicating, cleaning and lots of cuddles, pats, and love!
  • Assist with shopping for supplies and coordinating vet trips.
  • Capture experiences of sanctuary and rescue life through photos and videos for our media channels.
  • Engage with the community to manage animal care cases and promote responsible pet ownership.
  • Help to maintain the sanctuary grounds and facilities to a high standard.
  • Work a flexible 5-day workweek and explore Vietnam on your time off.
  • Enjoy 21 days of paid holiday leave a year.
  • Live in provided private accommodation, with access to a motorcycle, as well as have assistance with Visa renewals.

Attributes and experience

  • Previous experience with animal care, ideally in an animal rescue or shelter environment.
  • Passion for animal welfare and a genuine love for animals.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude with a great sense of humour in the face of the challenges of working with animals.
  • Ability to make a minimum commitment of 6 months ideally, will consider 3 months on application.
  • A positive outlook and willingness to be involved in all aspects of the organisation.
  • Previous social media, marketing, photography, or fundraising experience would be looked upon favourably.
  • Veterinary nurses or veterinary technologists looking for an exciting change are encouraged to apply.
