About the role

The Foster Care Recruitment and Support Worker role is responsible for the recruitment, assessment, training, retention and ongoing support of Foster Carers, within the Out of Home Care Program. This position requires an ability to work flexible hours. 

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal communities and cultures, an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia, and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal people
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clients/community members with a high quality, culturally appropriate service and referrals
  • A demonstrated ability to mentor volunteers by providing them with relevant information, support, feedback about their care, and opportunities for professional development
  • Qualification in Community services or relevant expertise in a similar role
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable)
