  • Base Salary, HEO 8 $117,116 - $132,079 p.a. (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney are welcoming applications for a Supervising Psychologist to be part of the GambleAware team based at our Western Sydney Office- Parramatta. The supervising psychologist will be required to provide cognitive therapy, provide clinical supervision, and assist with regional and staff management.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to community engagement and outreach as well as clinical research and service delivery evaluation.

The role will be offered flexible work arrangements including work-from-home as appropriate, flexible hours, including potentially the option to work on Saturdays and across other outreach offices in Penrith and Katoomba.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide treatment, assessment, and crisis intervention with clients.
  • Provide clinical supervision for interns and staff.
  • Manage team members.
  • Participate in community engagement events to build links with key community stakeholders and to raise awareness of gambling harm in the community.
  • Contribute to the achievement of clinic and team outcomes, by coordinating projects, activities or tasks including clinic evaluation as specified by the Clinic Director.

About you

  • Accreditation as an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia/AHPRA
  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia/AHPRA
  • An endorsement in clinical psychology (desirable)
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team as well as work as part of the team
  • A demonstrated understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines
  • Experience in supervision of clinical interns
  • The ability to conduct therapy in a community language other than English (desirable)
  • Experience in community engagement activities (desirable)
  • Experience in working for not-for-profit organisations, NGOs or in a tertiary education institution or similar field (desirable).

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
